The 2003 Scheme

Further amendments to the scheme were made by the Health Insurance Amendment (Professional Services Review and Other Matters) Act 2002 (No.130, 2002), which commenced as follows:

• a provision validating certain referrals commenced on 18 December 2002;
• most other PSR amendments commenced on 1 January 2003.

Whilst the amendments generally preserved the operation of the previous legislation for investigative and adjudicative referrals made before 31 December 2002, the new provisions apply for referrals to PSR committees after that date.
