Management and accountability

Management of human resources

All staff, except the Director, were employed under the Public Service Act 1999 and all but two ongoing staff were employed on a permanent full-time basis.

Due to the significant downturn in the number of requests Medicare Australia is sending to PSR, eight staff in the Committee Unit accepted a redundancy package during 2004-05. Five retired in 2004-05 and a further three retired early in 2005-06. During the year, one staff member was promoted to another department and one resigned to follow a different career path.

Tables 9 and 10 show the actual permanent staffing levels and the classification levels of all staff as at 30 June 2006.
