PSR’s business plan for 2007–08 identified four key strategies, namely:
- manage requests to review from Medicare Australia effectively and efficiently
- minimise the incidence of inappropriate practice
- identify and develop areas for growth
- instil good governance arrangements.
The plan recognises the need to reinvigorate some of PSR’s business processes following the downturn in work in previous years, and the likely challenges emerging from the 2006 Review of the PSR Scheme. The plan aimed to strike a balance between performing PSR’s business as usual efficiently and effectively and focusing on quality improvement.
